Our World: Welcome-to-June Edition
In the words of Aldo Leopold:
In June as many as a dozen species may burst their buds on a single day. No person can heed all of these anniversaries; no person can ignore all of them.

Our World: It's-May-already Edition
Welcome to May! The last day in April is Walpurgis Eve in Sweden - an ancient tradition where Swedes have bonfires (to get rid of evil spirits in the olden days) and to welcome in spring. It's usually very cold in the evenings still, but the days are warming up!

Our World: 10 April 2017
As you probably know, there was a terrorist attack in my adopted town of Stockholm on Friday, when a man hijacked a truck and drove it down a pedestrian street full of people, mowing them down as he went.
My heart goes out to the victims and their families, as well as to the victims of so many other attacks - in Syria, St. Petersburg and London, to name a few recent examples.
It's so easy to lose hope -- but in times of crisis, people pull together to help each other out, and that's how I know love and light will win over hate and darkness.

It's April already - the start of spring for some of us, while others are gliding into autumn.

Our World: 20 March 2017
It's the spring equinox on Monday, 20 March - when night and day are the same length. Then it gets lighter and lighter in the northern hemisphere and darker in the southern hemisphere.
But for this one day - the balance of the world is harmonious and perfect!

Our World: 13 March 2017
"The cold was our pride, the snow was our beauty. It fell and fell, lacing day and night together in a milky haze, making everything quieter as it fell, so that winter seemed to partake of religion in a way no other season did, hushed, solemn."

Our World: End-of-February Edition
It is with great regret that I have to tell you all that one of the co-founders of Our World, the lovely Arja, who lived in Australia, passed away a couple of weeks ago.
Her family posted her last words to us here.
She will be missed.

Our World: Lucia Edition
December 13 is Lucia here in Scandinavia. It's a time when choirs carry candles and the Lucias wear candles in their hair and they all sing like angels while the snow falls softly outside.
Lucia is about bringing the light into the darkness and spreading warmth and love. (The world needs all the light and goodness it can get.)
